For a long time, I’ve had this sense that I “make people feel uncomfortable”.

I make people feel uncomfortable just by being.

Because I was taught to take responsibility for other people’s emotional responses to me.

And, simultaneously…

I was taught that it wasn’t safe to be me.

And I’m finding myself more & more disillusioned by pretty words.

Let’s unpick the word “confession” for a moment.

Let’s talk about what it does — or doesn’t — mean.

Cambridge damns you.
